Chris Guest

Hello! today I'm gonna tell you about Chris Guest an Inglish artist who paints tattoed people. He have 36 years old and  he studied  illustration at Bournemouth University and at Brunel College in Bristol.

He generally use oil to paint, but he have some watercolors too. Chris describes his work like a classic, especially in style and technique, but he with a modern subjetc matter, like painting tattoed people.
He paints from real life, with a model but sometimes he can't have a person for a long session of painting, even less in the street, so he use to photos to do his work.
I follow this artist in Instagram and what I love from his work is the way that he uses the oil. His work is very realist but still you can see the the oil stain, and how the brush went. I also like the colors in his paintings becouse they are very flashy. See the procees in Instagram about his paintings it's great, becouse he does a big stain and then he puts some colores and the figure starts to appear.Nevertheless something that I really don't like, it's that the most of his works are womens, and all of them are very sexy and provocatives, and they always are naked or with very small clothes. I think that maybe he objetualizes womens, falling into a stereotype of the sexy and tattoed woman.
